Software Developer, HIE Services

Overview

Healthconnect Texas is actively seeking a HIE Software Developer to join the development team. This role will network with participants, vendors, and in-house teams, in an agile manner, to maximize project resources and efficiency.

The candidate will be a member of an agile development team that values quality and collaboration. This position will require the candidate to participate in group design meetings, author effective and concise code, and conduct meaningful unit tests. As a member of the team, the candidate will interact with stakeholders of the business, including customers, management, vendors, and non-technical staff.

Responsibilities and Technical Requirements

  • Responsible for the design, development, testing, maintenance and support of integration solutions for disparate healthcare systems and interfaces (EHR, HIS, PACS, Care Management, etc.).
  • Proficiency in development languages such as ObjectScript
  • Experience with InterSystems HealthShare
  • Strong SQL and database skills (e.g., InterSystems Caché, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Integration development experience in:
    • IHE Profile Integrations (XDS.b, XDS-i, XCPD, XCA)
    • HL7 v2.x, HL7 V3/RIM Integrations, CCD and C-CDA documents
    • Medical Terminology Translation (SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm)
    • WS-Security, SOAP and PKI
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure and AWS) and modern DevOps practices

Experience

2+ years of hands on with supporting and developing interfaces in InterSystems HealthShare is preferred.

Location

Houston, TX candidates or those willing to relocate will be considered.
